to achieving optimal health. Each component is as important as the next except for one, the Mind / Body component. This component is the one that is responsible for making the others possible.
The mind is the gateway from the consciousness of self to the physical beingness. In other words, it aids in making decisions in the physical universe. The mind is the most neglected part individuals who struggle with making the right choices. The mind sometimes reverts to past memories when acting in the present causing one to make irrational decisions. For instance, if a German Shepard dog bit you in the past then all German Shepard dogs bite in the present. Sounds a little crazy yet it happens to many every day,in many ways.
The mind can be your worst enemy or your most valuable asset. Use it and it does remarkable things, don't use it and just like anything else it becomes stagnant and weak. The mind, in order to stay healthy needs to exercise. This is an important point I want to make especially those who are beginning to change their lives for the better. Reading is a great exercise for the mind.
The mind is the switching mechanism we all use to make choices. A choice is the decision made between a stimulus and a response. For example, I am hungry and open the refrigerator and see cake and salad (the stimulus), I decide which item I want (the choice), and then the action of eating what I have chosen (the response).
This mind process holds true for every thing you do every waking minute of your life, day after day, year after year. It is the key to your ultimate freedom but not many individuals pay attention to its unlimited power. The mind is the most magical part of a person when it is healthy. Here's a quick exercise you can do daily to help you improve how it works.
Once a day think for a 10 second count before choosing what you are going to eat. During that 10 seconds think about whether your choice is healthy or not, then make your choice. Watch what happens in the coming weeks, I'll bet you start to feel better just by virtue of the empowerment of those choices. Train your brain to relearn what many big corporations have brain washed you to think for decades.

Yes, we've all been programmed in our sub conscious with all of the products that influence our buying and consuming. This mind conditioning process was proven by Ivan Pavlov, a Russian scientist (1849-1936) who experimented with a dog to prove his conditioning theory.
He rang a bell at the same time he fed a dog. This was known as the classical conditioning theory
. After the conditioning process, the dog would salivate just upon hearing the bell. The bell is similar to the slogans above only we play the role as the dog. Once, and only once an individual is aware of this conditioning will they have the consciousness to choose otherwise. Think about it for a second right now and decide to not let it affect you.
